L'Ave Maria di Bach-Gounod è una celebre composizione sul testo in lingua latina dell'Ave Maria, arrangiata per pianoforte e violoncello e eseguita da John Michel
La melodia del canto è stata scritta dal compositore francese Charles Gounod nel 1859, che la pensò sovrapposta al Preludio n. 1 in do maggiore dal I Libro del Clavicembalo ben temperato (BWV 846), composto da J.S. Bach circa 137 anni prima (Gounod aggiunse una battuta in un cambio di armonia del preludio).

Bach-Gounod's Ave Maria is a famous composition based on the Latin text of the Ave Maria, arranged for piano and cello and performed by John Michel
The song melody was written by the French composer Charles Gounod in 1859, who thought it superimposed on the Prelude n. 1 in C major from Book I of the Well Tempered Clavier (BWV 846), composed by J.S. Bach about 137 years earlier (Gounod added a bar in a harmony change of the prelude).
